This series of four works on paper was created in spring 2022.
Canson paper is first dyed with tea , then enhanced with gold acrylic . The central subject, balance , traced with charcoal or pastel , gives a dynamic and harmonious effect, while preserving the balance of forms.
When dyeing the paper, tea is randomly applied to the surface to create an aged , textured effect overall. The resulting traces invite the viewer's eye to wander across the surface. In the same way, the gold paint, which gives a precious effect to the work, shines depending on the brightness to which it is exposed. The pattern is drawn with charcoal or pastel, light and fragile materials, symbolizing a kind of evanescence.
The fragility of the materials of the work reinforces its symbolic meaning: the balance is fleeting, sometimes ephemeral and remains confronted with external elements.
