- General statement on sustainable development
Sustainable development is important to me. I'm committed to helping the environment every step of the way, while continuing to provide you with the quality products you deserve. Around 85% of all textiles produced by the fashion industry end up in landfills, making the industry a major contributor to environmental degradation. Additionally, one in five items of clothing end up in a landfill without having been worn once.
As I work with on-demand suppliers, I only produce items for which I receive an order, thus avoiding textile waste due to overproduction. My printing partner's high-quality printing technology creates almost no wastewater and uses less energy than industry standard printers.

Every product you see in my catalog is made on demand: as soon as you place an order, we produce it specifically for you. This allows me to avoid overproduction and textile waste, and I am constantly working towards more ecological production.

This technique is typically used for products with a high cotton fabric content, such as t-shirts, hoodies, tote bags, etc. My clothing designs are made using different methods. Many of my products are printed with the digital textile printing (DTG) technique, a printing method where the ink is first sprayed directly onto the garment and then impregnated into the fabric. It's like printing on paper, but on clothes. We use Kornit printers that generate virtually no wastewater and use less energy than industry standard printers, reducing our carbon footprint.
The inks we use for printing are Oeko-Tex™ certified, vegan, water-based and free of harmful chemicals. I take sustainability seriously, so my supplier takes care to properly dispose of any leftover ink according to the ink supplier's guidelines.
- Embroidery Information
At Jiel, products are embroidered with Oeko-Tex™ certified threads, which means they are safe for adult and children's clothing. Compared to printing, embroidery is generally more sustainable and produces less environmental waste.
- Eco-friendly product materials
There are many reasons why a product or material can be considered sustainable. Currently, my eco-friendly product collection consists of items made from at least 70% organic or recycled materials, or a mixture of both.
- Statement on production times
Every product you see in my catalog is made on demand, which means once you place the order, we start working to get it to you. It takes us time to create and ship the product, but making each order on demand allows us to avoid overproduction. So we can take care of you and the planet we all share.
- Product packaging
At Jiel, all clothing products are packaged in post-consumer recycled plastic (PCR) envelopes. The amount of PCR in the package varies depending on where your order is printed, but is at least 50% for outer bags (white or gray) and at least 30% for outer bags (transparent) interiors used for sending multiple items.
PCR packaging is made from everyday items, like used plastic bags and bottles. This material protects your order just as well as regular plastic bags. However, by choosing PCR rather than first-use plastic, you reduce the environmental impact of plastic on our planet.
